Overview
A bubbly personal assistant is required to support a happy 16-year-old girl living in the Launceston area. She has Epilepsy, Autism and chromosome disorder skarban‑deirboff and would like someone who she can build up a positive relationship with and provide her with some support.
She would like someone to support her with her communication. She loves arts and crafts, messy play, music and make‑up. She enjoys watching Thomas the Tank Engine, dinosaur programmes and playing with associated toys.
A personal assistant will enable her to enjoy activities at home, in her local community and with her family.
Responsibilities
* Assist the young woman in daily activities and communication support.
* Help her participate in arts, crafts, music and play activities.
* Provide companionship and build a positive relationship.
* Support attendance at local community events and family activities.
Requirements
* Up to 8 hours per week, flexible scheduling with some weekend and school holiday availability.
* Car driving essential due to rural location.
* Full driving licence desirable.
* Knowledge or personal experience of working with young people essential.
* Will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, not with Cornwall Council.
Pay
£12.60 per hour.
