Mechanical and Fluids Engineering Expert
We are seeking a talented Mechanical and Fluids Engineer to join our team in the development of cutting-edge technologies for human exploration of space. As a key member of our launch engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and testing advanced mechanical and fluid systems for our Starship program.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and fluids engineering, with expertise in system architecture, design, analysis, manufacturing, integration, activation, and operational phases. They will also be responsible for performing structural, dynamic, thermal, and fluids analysis as necessary to determine requirements and optimize the design of these systems.
You will work closely with software and operation engineers to develop the concept of operations for launch mount systems, aiming to create robust, fault-tolerant systems and software that perform every time in the varying extreme conditions of a launch environment.
Collaboration is key to success in this role, and you will work closely with engineers designing the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles to determine how the tower, launch mount, and vehicle can work together most effectively.
Responsibilities:
* Design and develop advanced mechanical and fluid systems for the Starship program
* Perform structural, dynamic, thermal, and fluids analysis as necessary to determine requirements and optimize the design of these systems
* Work closely with software and operation engineers to develop the concept of operations for launch mount systems
* Collaborate with engineers designing the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles to determine how the tower, launch mount, and vehicle can work together most effectively
* Develop and implement test plans and procedures for new systems and components
