Ship Inn Southbank Pty Ltd ATF The Ship In Unit Trust is an iconic Brisbane pub with a rich and storied history dating back to 1864! What was once a rowdy sailor’s drinking den has been transformed into a civilised gastro pub complete with a separate and impressive function and convention facility that can cater for up to 200 guests.
The Ship Inn at South Bank seeks full time Chef to join our busy kitchen team producing our classic pub style menu
Responsibilities:
· Supporting the Head Chef with kitchen compliance, production & delivery of high-quality meals and supporting the kitchen team
Main Duties:
· Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring they meet our standards for taste, presentation, and portion size.
· Ensure food preparation and quality is of the highest standard possible
· Monitoring and adjusting temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking appliances.
· Season food during cooking to enhance flavour profiles and elevate the dining experience.
· Plating food, portioning it accordingly, and enhancing presentation with gravies, sauces, and garnishes
· Create dishes tailored to specific dietary needs, such as allergies, intolerances, and individual preferences.
· Manage stock levels and follow company procedures and recipe guidelines
· Inspect food items upon arrival to verify quality and freshness, promptly reporting any discrepancies to the Head Chef.
· Ensure that food is stored in facilities with controlled temperatures, following food safety protocols and reducing wastage.
· Ensure hygiene is maintained to the required standards
· Maintain a clean and organised kitchen during and after service
To be selected you must have:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification or relevant experience to substitute qualification
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Chef
- Proven experience in a similar role at a busy pub type eatery.
- High level of attention to detail
- Exceptional levels of cleanliness and organisation
- Management, communication and organisational skills
- Team player and able to work in busy environment
Job Types: Full-time, Casual
Pay: $76,515 plus Superannuation
