Family Violence Specialist
This role requires a highly experienced professional in Family Violence to build the capacity of staff within the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop processes for responding to family violence.
* Conduct education sessions for Community Child Health staff to improve their ability to identify and respond to family violence.
* Carry a small caseload of families affected by family violence, ensuring continuity with the MCH service.
* Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to collaborate on preventing and responding to family violence.
* Provide strategic advice on reducing family violence.
About You
The ideal candidate will have expertise in Social Work, Women's Health Services, or Community Health Services. They will be able to work non-judgmentally with diverse people and think critically when making decisions.
Essential Experience:
* Understanding of the complexity of family violence and factors influencing parental ability to act protectively.
* Knowledge of the family violence sector in Victoria, including relevant legal protections and resources.
* Interpersonal skills to provide advice and support to families affected by family violence.
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Degree-level qualification in social work or similar with experience working with children and families experiencing family violence.
