The Role 
The ABC, Australia's most trusted news brand, is looking for an experienced journalist to break news and set the agenda in one of the best locations in Queensland. 
ABC Gold Coast is looking for an experienced news reporter who can produce and present digital, social, audio and video content to engage local and national audiences 
The Job 
- Create multi-platform content for local and national audiences. 
- Produce and present news bulletins, Q&As;, interviews, packages and breaking stories. 
- Contribute to planning and commissioning recent content ideas for strong engagement. 
- Support Local Emergency Coverage and liaise with stakeholders. 
- Develop local content for sharing across ABC platforms. 
- Generate stories reflecting Australia's cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity. 
Position Description 
About You 
- Tertiary qualifications in journalism or equivalent experience. 
- At least four years' experience working in a news environment 
- Experience delivering breaking and original content across platforms. 
- Skilled in live presentation and broadcast. 
- Strong editorial skills with sound judgement and information analysis. 
- Understanding of issues affecting local audiences. 
- Ability to build and maintain wide community contacts. 
- Passion for storytelling that reflects Australia's diversity and a commitment to representing diverse perspectives.
