OverviewJoin to apply for the Teacher - Humanities and Social Sciences role at Department of Education, Western Australia.This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency.Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers.

They should have care and consideration for students, display effective behaviour management practices and a show a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice.The Humanities and Social Sciences teacher will ideally possess a thorough understanding of the Western Australian curriculum and Senior Secondary Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) courses.
Knowledge of the Western Australian curriculum, including the General Capabilities Intercultural Understanding curriculum and the ability to differentiate for individual students, resulting in the provision of engaging learning experiences is desirable.
The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to teach Senior School Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Geography, with experience in ATAR Geography also highly desirable.The successful applicant should be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, innovative, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
