About the Role
As a Control Systems Engineer at IRIS, you'll be responsible for executing high-quality, innovative automation projects and supporting our national engineering teams. You'll be part of a dynamic and supportive team delivering solutions that make a real impact.
Main Responsibilities
Deliver control systems and automation projects across diverse industries
Provide technical support to engineering teams and clients
Prepare high-quality engineering documentation: reports, specifications, methodologies
Fault-find and program PLC/SCADA systems
Undertake onsite commissioning of systems and instrumentation
Act as a trusted partner and representative of IRIS on client sites
Contribute to a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement
The Perfect Applicant Will:
Have 4+ years' experience in control systems within industrial or manufacturing environments
Be experienced with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Schneider PLCs
Have exposure to Honeywell or Yokogawa DCS (desirable)
Demonstrate strong PLC/SCADA programming and fault-finding skills
Be experienced in onsite commissioning
Have instrumentation commissioning/fault-finding experience (highly regarded)
Develop client-focused, high-quality design solutions
Possess excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for improving systems
Be a confident communicator with face-to-face client experience
Enjoy working in a close-knit team with shared accountability
Be committed to quality, safety, and continuous learning
Be motivated by the variety and autonomy that comes with working in a small-to-medium business
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field (highly regarded)
Valid Australian driver's licence
