We are seeking a talented and motivated Mid-Level Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic and growing technology team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing, maintaining, and optimising our critical database infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across our various business units. Key Responsibilities Database Management: Administer, monitor, and maintain relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability. Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve database performance issues, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and system configuration adjustments. Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage robust backup and recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity and rapid restoration capabilities. Security: Enforce database security policies, manage user access, and implement best practices to protect sensitive data. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related incidents, including connectivity issues, data corruption, and system failures. Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline database administration tasks and improve efficiency. Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, system administrators, and other IT professionals to support application deployments, migrations, and new initiatives. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation to provide out-of-hours support for critical database incidents. Qualifications and Experience Experience: 5-7 years of experience as a Database Administrator in an enterprise environment. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in administering and tuning at least two major relational database systems (SQL Server, MySQL). Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) is highly desirable. Solid understanding of database architecture, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts. Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages ( PowerShell, Python, Bash). Experience with cloud database services (Azure SQL Database, GCP Cloud SQL) is a plus.
