Responsibilities
Leading ecological field surveys and botanical assessments
Managing spatial ecology projects from scoping to delivery
Applying remote sensing and ML tools (including TytonAI)
Conducting spatial analyses (vector/raster) for environmental applications
Producing maps, reports, and ecological models
Mentoring junior staff and engaging with clients
Qualifications
A degree in botany, ecology, or environmental science
4+ years of experience in ecological consulting (WA preferred)
Strong knowledge of WA flora and experience in field surveys
Competence using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for environmental analysis
Excellent communication and report writing skills
Project management and proposal writing experience
A current manual driver's licence and capacity for fieldwork
Bonus points for:
UAV operations and imagery processing
Remote sensing or machine learning for ecology
Ecological or species distribution modelling
