**About the role**
To efficiently and effectively receive, decontaminate, assemble, sterilise and package reusable medical devices at the highest standard working autonomously. In addition, transporting of reusable medical devices throughout the hospital, Instrument technician endeavour to provide efficient, optimum quality, safe and professional services to patients and stakeholders in a patient focused environment through effective and committed teamwork in a safe working environment.
- Work cooperatively within the team and communicate clearly to ensure the needs of our patients and their families and carers are met within the guidelines
- Complies with and work towards an advanced knowledge of AS/NZ 4187 Reprocessing of reusable medical devices (RMD) in health service organisations
- Deliver high customer service to the business
- Understanding of risks associated with use of some equipment and deployment of safety measures to mitigate risks
- Infection Prevention measures in accordance with Monash Health Policy
**About You**
Holds a certificate IV in sterilisation services or equivalent qualification awarded by a registered training organisation, recognised by the employer as such and has greater than 3 years' experience as an instrument technician (full time equivalent)
Is able to work in all areas of the department including endoscopy and loan as rostered with a high degree of autonomy and accountability. Is able to work any shift on a rotating roster.
