Are you passionate about libraries, learning, and helping your community?
We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Library Trainee to join our team where you will both learn on the job and undertake a Certificate III or IV in Library & Information Services while gaining hands on experience in a dynamic library environment.
This 12-month traineeship is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in libraries or community services.
You will receive on-job training across all areas of library operations while studying through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
As a Library Trainee, you will work under supervision to support the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused library services and gain practical experience in the following areas.
Responsibilities
Customer service and supporting library enquiries
Digital resources and library technologies
Program and event delivery
Collection maintenance and circulation services
Library administration and workplace processes
Qualifications and Requirements
Successful completion of the entry requirements for the Certificate III or IV in Library & Information Services (details on TAFE website)
Strong interest and commitment to completing the Certificate III or IV in Library & Information Services
Basic literacy, numeracy and computer skills including Microsoft Office
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Interest in undertaking further education and pursuing a career in libraries or community services
Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
Current WA Driver's Licence
Desirable
Successful completion of Certificate II or III in Library and Information Services
