We are seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer based in Canberra to design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure cloud-based systems using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for the stability and performance of our development and production environments, driving continuous improvement across infrastructure, deployment processes, and incident response.
Key Responsibilities
• Build, manage and support development and production environments in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Monitor system performance and reliability; proactively respond to incidents and outages.
• Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.
• Implement automation to improve system efficiency, reliability and scalability.
• Manage updates, deployments, and environment changes using infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Participate in architectural reviews and system analysis to support technical decision-making.
• Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
• Ensure systems meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of DevOps and SRE practices.
About You
• Proven experience (4+ years) in infrastructure/platform and DevOps roles.
• Proficient with AWS (or similar cloud platforms), CloudFormation/Terraform and Docker.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting tools.
• Scripting and automation skills (e.g. Python, Bash).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams and supporting software development lifecycles.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
• Relevant industry certifications are advantageous.
• The successful candidate must hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Australian Government AGVA security clearance.
