About the Opportunity

In this role, you will work to ensure families and carers are engaged, supported, and empowered throughout their loved one's recovery journey. Your primary focus will be on supporting family members and carers. The role will be part of Wellways Recovery programme, a community‑based support programme for individuals aged 16 and above living with diagnosed mental health challenges.

You will provide one‑to‑one support to an allocated caseload of family members and carers, and contribute to group work, community education, stakeholder engagement, and quality improvement activities as required.


Key Responsibilities

* Build hope, trust, and confidence in their caring role
* Strengthen understanding of mental health, recovery principles, and effective communication, and improve resilience, wellbeing, & self‑care
* Enhance social connection and develop sustainable support networks
* Navigate services, supports, and referral pathways
* Build practical strategies for managing the complexities of caring
* Maintain healthy family relationships and recovery‑focused collaboration


Qualifications

* Tertiary qualifications in a social science or related discipline
* Prior experience working within the mental health industry or a community‑based organisation
* Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to complete reports
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
* Current valid driver's licence and ability to undertake travel for the role
* Current Working with Children Check
* Right to work within Australia
* Satisfactory National Police Records Check
