Our client is an established underground hard rock mining operation producing base metals from polymetallic deposits. Recognised for operating a modern fleet equipped with advanced autonomous drilling and mining technology, they are strongly focused on productivity, safety and maintaining a positive team culture. We are seeking an experienced Jumbo Operator proficient on Sandvik DD421 and DD421i drills to carry out underground development drilling, ground support installation and with the flexibility to step into CAT/Sandvik bogger/loader operations when required.
The roster is 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. The role is suitable to operators who are flexible, reliable and capable of covering leave requirements while support site production targets under FIFO, DIDO or Live-residential based conditions.
Key Duties
* Operate underground development Sandvik DD421 Jumbos safely and efficiently
* Perform development drilling/boring with ground support including bolting, meshing and rehab.
* Cover between crew (A/B, & C/D) leave and provide operational support cross shifts
* Assist with bogging operations (CAT 2900 and Sandvik loaders) when Jumbo work duties are light.
* Work closely with Shift Supervisor and development crew to maintain production targets.
* Ensure compliance to OHS policies and work safely to site standard operational procedures (SOP).
About You
You must hold Certificate III and IV in Underground Metalliferous Mining, with proven core competencies in Sandvik Jumbo development drilling and CAT and/or Sandvik underground loader operations. Experience operating equipment fitted with automation systems, advanced boom positioning and modern control platforms, including 'robo' mining capability, is essential.
Applicants are required to hold current Verification of Competency (VOC)/ SOA, Recognised Prior Learning (RPLs) of training log history for underground development Sandvik Jumbo and Caterpillar & Sandvik loader Operations. In addition, you must hold other tickets including Confined Spaces, Working Safely at Heights, Provide First Aid/ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitations and Underground (Hard-rock) mining area familiarisation and site inductions certificates. You must also hold a current Australian Driver’s Licence and all relevant underground mining competencies recorded through your USI transcript.
