The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Technology Technician to join our team at the Wheelers Hill Campus on a part-time (3 days a week) 12-month fixed-term contract.

The successful applicant will play a crucial role in our dynamic school community. With a strong foundation in design and workshop fabrication skills, the ideal candidate will bring valuable expertise in utilising workshop tools and equipment. They will also play a key role in ensuring smooth information flow, utilising their strong IT and communication skills to enhance engagement, streamline processes, and facilitate effective collaboration with students and colleagues.


Key Duties

* Provide support for the members of the Design teaching staff in an administrative, organisational and technical capacity and technical support to students in classes
* Providing assistance to students with timber, acrylic and metal based designs
* Coordinate and manage materials and equipment for 3D printers and laser cutters
* Manage exhibitions and display of student works and complete associated duties
* Preparing timber, acrylic and metal for class use
* Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.


Skills and Experience

* Design and workshop fabrication skills and experience with workshop tools and equipment
* Experience with 3D printer and laser cutter skills is desirable
* Experience working with secondary students (middle and senior school) is preferred
* Qualifications in a design or engineering field
* Holds a Current Drivers Licence
* Holds or is willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check and safe use of machinery training
* Holds or is willing to obtain safe use of machinery
