Outdoor Education Instructor – YMCA Camp Warrawee
We are recruiting a committed Outdoor Education Instructor on a casual basis to join our team located in Joyner.
About the Role
As an Outdoor Education Instructor at our Camp, you will deliver high-quality camp programmes, coordinate site logistics, and maintain activity equipment and infrastructure.
What will my time look like?
Assist in the planning, implementation, assessment and review of a high-quality and diverse camp programme.
Ensure the safety of clients through appropriate supervision and execution of duty of care.
Participate in professional development opportunities, including scheduled staff training sessions and meetings.
Assist with the review and development of work instructions, risk assessments, operating procedures and policies relevant to the role.
Engage in warm, responsive, positive interactions with the clients, supporting their learning and development.
Assist client groups in preparation for meals.
Work cooperatively with other Outdoor Education Instructors and the Program Coordinator, supporting each other in the workplace.
Am I a good match?
Tertiary qualifications in Outdoor Education or Outdoor Recreation (Certificate IV Outdoor Education or equivalent).
Sound knowledge of computer systems including the Microsoft Office suite.
Effective communication skills at all levels.
Ability to work effectively with minimum direction and as part of a team.
Sound reasoning and judgement; exercise tact; maintain discretion.
Current Driver's Licence.
First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
Positive notice Blue Card, or willingness to obtain.
