We are a complete turnkey power generation company from Maintenance jobs small and large, through to large generator set installations and rental solutions.


The Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a full-time Operations Manager. We are looking for a professional manager to join our team with minimum 3-5 years' experience as an Operations/Service manager. This role involves managing a team of tradespeople and office staff with some hands‑on work where needed; with the following skills:

* Trade certificate in Mechanical and/or Electrical trade.
* 3-5 Years minimum experience managing small to medium business.
* Work alongside MD and management team to drive customer/works delivery, invest in internal culture and training, strategic business growth.
* HR truck license highly desirable.
* Generator or similar hire/service industry experience highly desirable.

Essentially, as Operations Manager; the expectation is for you to monitor all aspects of job delivery to our clients and monitor productivity to ensure works are delivered on time, on budget and to the CG standard.

Your role will see you needing a combination of mechanical and electrical knowledge with a strong customer focus, managing team productivity, goods in and out, job allocations, etc. You will be supported by a Job Scheduler, Estimator and Project Manager; however, you will ultimately be responsible for managing the operations, field service and install teams.

This new position will see you working with the Director and Business Development manager and overseeing and motivating our current team of service/project scheduling and mobile service technicians.

Our head office is in Burnside QLD with works being completed throughout the east coast.

Your daily duties will include:

Ensure that the team around you is organised and key elements are not missed. As Operations Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the deployment of work operates smoothly and without gaps in scope or responsibility, such as:

* Assisting in efficient scheduling and labour productivity (working with/managing service scheduler).
* Ensuring hire sets are maintained, fueled, tested and ready to hire and maintained while on and off hire.
* Working with BDM, estimator and project manager whom will hand over works for parts ordering and internal asset allocation.
* Loading and unloading CG trucks and making deliveries where needed.
* Assisting in technical queries and time allocation with scheduler, using AroFlo program.
* Ordering materials and working with project manager, BDM/estimator and scheduler to oversee and manage job Scheduling & Reporting.
* Work with stores person to ensure parts are at dispatch for the technicians to collect and are set out in advance.
* Keep track on outgoing hire sets to make sure they are ready to hire, cables are out, and complete with trucks booked; a few days prior to dispatch.
* Keep track on outgoing load banks to make sure they are ready to use, cables are out and complete a few days prior to dispatch and not buried behind other items.
* Carry out site inspections after major and minor works to ensure our standards are being met by staff.
* Subcontractor Management.
* Supplier Management.


To be successful for the role you will have the following attributes:

* A positive and upbeat nature.
* Electrical or Mechanical trade certificate.
* Experience in the generator or other similar industry such as hire industry is highly desirable but not mandatory.
* Minimum 3-5 Years' experience in similar role.
* Knowledge of Generator systems is highly desirable or thorough knowledge in mechanical and/or electrical systems.
* Proficiency with Estimation/scheduling software (preferably Aroflo, Xero or similar) This will allow efficient hand over of works.
* Strong communication skills and team player.
* Strong management skills to allow you to manage a team of office and trade based staff.
* Ability to liaise with customers and colleagues in a professional and friendly manor.
* Strong problem‑solving skills.
* Strong work ethic and commitment to 'getting the job done' and working necessary hours needed to ensure operations run smoothly.
* Must have current Australian work rights to be eligible for this position.
