Primary objective

To assist the Executive Leadership Group and the agency with corporate governance and organisational services and support.

Context statement

NT Fire and Emergency Services' (NTFES) Strategy and Performance unit is the central coordination and liaison point between the

Agency, ministerial offices and other agencies on issues relating to NTFES' responsibilities to government and the community, and

provides organisational support for NTFES, as an agency.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide high quality organisational services, including identifying, developing and delivering organisational improvement,

business and governance initiatives and practices across NTFES, to maximise core business outputs and ensure achievement

of strategic goals in accordance with government and agency guidelines.

1. Co-ordinate and manage corporate and business planning and schedules, business continuity and strategic policy processes,

and identify opportunities to improve integrity processes and procedures to achieve better outcomes.

1. Provide project management support and services including research and analysis, stakeholder liaison, procurement and

contract management, and corporate reporting.

1. Support NTFES by arranging appropriate training, maintaining registers, policies, and procedures, conducting internal reviews,

and developing and disseminating internal communications.

1. Manage NTFES' corporate projects, as required, such as induction, early career programs, performance agreements, conflicts

of interests, gifts and benefits etc.

1. Liaise and negotiate with shared service providers to coordinate delivery of services as required.
2. Foster a positive workplace culture with specific attention to ethics and integrity, through exemplary governance-focused

practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Knowledge of strategic and business planning regarding the delivery of successful outcomes in a public sector environment.

2. Demonstrated experience in reviewing and developing policy to support business processes and systems, and identifying

opportunities for continuous improvement, with strong conceptual and analytical skills.

3. Demonstrated understanding of governance structures and processes in a public sector environment, and finance and

procurement requirements.

4. High-level interpersonal and written and oral communication skills with an attention to detail, and well-developed engagement

and influencing skills to collaborate effectively across diverse cultures with ability to adapt communication style based on format

of discussion, stakeholders and approach all interactions with a proactive and inclusive attitude.

1. Proven work ethic with demonstrated ability to operate effectively as part of a team and autonomously to manage workload,

competing priorities, exercise sound judgement, deal with sensitive issues, maintain confidentiality and deliver quality

outcomes.

1. Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, and report writing.

Desirable

1. Tertiary qualification in business, public administration or related discipline.
