A bit about the role
Our Community Care team support people under 65 years and Aboriginals or Torres Strait Islander people aged under 50 years who require assistance with activities of daily living. This may be due to physical and/or psychosocial functional impairment related to disability (for which they are not eligible for the NDIS), chronic illness and short-term health needs.
Working independently in client’s homes and in the community, you will provide flexible support services to a diverse range of people and their carers using an individualised approach to identify their strengths and build capacity to achieve their goals and enhance their independence and wellbeing, such as:
1. Domestic Assistance
2. Meal Preparation
3. Personal Care
4. Shopping (escorted and unescorted)
5. Respite, and
6. Social Support Groups
* Domestic Assistance is our highest demand services.
Your days will consist of visiting multiple clients to provide a variety of services. Each job can be a range of hours from half an hour to two or three hours in duration, depending on the service. You will be guaranteed a minimum of ten hours per week, this is reviewed every six months. Shifts will be scheduled within your availability at times that suit consumers’ needs and preferences, this means there may be days where you have ‘free time’ in your roster. There is also a small administrative component to the role including recording progress notes for clients, emails etc.
The number of shifts and hours will depend on your availability and demand for service.

What you’ll bring
15. Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care or equivalent
16. Knowledge of issues relating to disability and ageing
17. Strong communication skills for building trust and rapport with clients
18. Demonstrated skills and knowledge working in Community Care
19. Current employee Working with Children Check
20. Current Victorian driver’s license
21. Innovative, positive, and flexible mindset
