Category Lead Indirects
We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our team as a Category Lead – Indirects.
This role will be accountable for managing allocated Indirect spend categories, contributing to key programs related to this strategically important and growing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the development and implementation of Category Management strategies across areas such as IT, Facilities, Legal, Finance, Fleet, and other allocated categories.
* Assist stakeholders in supply chain and procurement activities, including cost optimization, purchasing, forecasting, and risk management.
* Contribute knowledge of supplier markets to help improve competitive advantage and service outcomes.
* Support the delivery of the Australia Sector supply chain roadmap to ensure alignment with processes, systems, and policy.
* Collaborate with departments to identify, qualify, and manage suppliers for tactical and strategic purchasing.
* Maintain awareness of compliance requirements for suppliers in a Defence and National Security environment.
* Implement a supply chain that supports business strategies, adapts to market changes, and cost optimization needs.
* Build strong working relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, suppliers, and external partners to support best practice and consistency in sourcing.
Requirements:
* A Degree in Business or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
* Solid experience in Procurement, Category Management, or Supply Chain.
* Demonstrated experience contributing to business or project procurement activities.
* Experience with procurement and supply chain models within ERP systems.
* Exposure to integration and transformation programs desirable.
* Experience in a regulated environment ideally Defence or ISO regulated.
* Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain management, procurement, and supplier engagement practices.
* Ability to support process and system improvements in solution design and commercial outcomes.
* Familiarity with import/export of regulated products advantageous.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address challenges that impact projects and functional delivery.
* Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
* A results-oriented, organized, and delivery-focused approach.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance. Current security clearance is advantageous.
