About the role

We have an opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to be part of our Network and Security Platform Services, Technology and Communication Services. The Senior Network Engineer provides high-level network engineering support for a diverse range of data and communications network infrastructure, including core networks, and remote site connectivity. This involves overseeing the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of NSWPF network and performance.



The Senior Network Engineer is a critical role within the Security Platform team and accountable for implementation, security and support of high-performance network infrastructure for NSW Police. This role demands advanced expertise in F5 application delivery controllers, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions, enterprise firewalls, and email security platforms. The successful candidate will be instrumental in optimizing network performance, safeguarding data traffic, and integrating modern security technologies. Strong problem-solving abilities, hands-on technical skills, and cross-functional collaboration are key to thriving in this role. Core responsibilities includes but not limited to:

* Design, deploy, and manage F5 BIG-IP modules including LTM, ASM, APM, and GTM.
* Perform load balancing, SSL offloading, and application firewall configurations.
* Develop and maintain iRules and iApps for traffic management and security enforcement.
* Design and implement SASE architecture, integrating networking and security functions such as SD-WAN, CASB, ZTNA, and SWG.
* Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of SASE and Proofpoint technologies.
* Deploy and manage Proofpoint solutions including Email Protection, Threat Intelligence, DLP, and Security Awareness Training
* Troubleshoot complex network and application delivery issues.
* Maintain documentation for network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
