Role Description/Criteria
The main responsibilities of the position include:
* Demonstrate practical work and laboratory techniques to students and assist teaching staff when required.
* Devise and prepare practical work and maintain an efficient system for use and allocation of materials and equipment, setting a priority system where necessary.
* Prepare all materials for practical lessons in advance when given appropriate notification in consultation with the science teachers
* Advise and assist science teaching staff in safety matters relating to the science laboratory
* Prepare solutions, stains and media for use in the laboratory.
* Maintain a safe chemical storage/handling/disposal system in accordance with current regulations, including an inventory of chemicals.
* Other duties as outlined in the position description.
The successful applicant can demonstrate the following competencies:
* Experience in laboratory work, preferably in a school environment
* Strong administration and organisational skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team of staff.
* Experience within a Catholic or similar educational organisation
* Current Working with Children's
