About this role:

As a Delicatessen Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the deli department. You will contribute to a store that is exceptionally presented, welcoming and engaging for our customers, team members and community.

You will have full accountability for monitoring stock, rotation routines, waste and quality control, while maintaining excellent department standards. Your leadership skills will be put to the test as you lead, coach and develop your team to meet sales targets, cost control and rostering requirements.

To succeed in this role, you will need to drive a one-team culture which celebrates success and puts our team members' health, safety and wellbeing first. You will also be expected to delight our customers with an outstanding shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage the deli department to achieve sales targets and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Monitor and control stock levels, rotate products and minimize waste to optimize profitability.
* Maintain excellent department standards, including cleanliness, presentation and merchandising.
* Develop and implement plans to improve sales and customer engagement.
* Foster a positive team culture, recognizing and rewarding individual contributions.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to enhance product knowledge and services.

Requirements:

* Previous experience working in a fast-paced customer-facing environment.
* Direct/indirect leadership experience, with a proven track record of achieving results through effective coaching and development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and mutual respect.
* Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively, with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Adaptable and flexible, with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances.
