Your role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital
You will provide a high level of skill and knowledge in caring for some of our most vulnerable and critically ill patients in a high-pressure environment. You will collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans, ensuring that patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met. Your role will also involve educating and supporting patients' families, helping them navigate difficult decisions and providing necessary resources for coping with their loved one's illness.
Our Palliative Care Ward – Granada is a busy 14-bed unit providing specialised palliative care. The ward is staffed by a dedicated team of nurses, doctors, and support staff trained in managing pain and providing emotional support. The environment is designed to be comfortable and peaceful, ensuring patients receive the highest quality of care during their admission.
The Position
* Assesses, plans, delivers, and evaluates patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required.
* Promotes effective communication, facilitating teamwork within the department and hospital.
* Provides patient education and acts as a resource when appropriate.
* Supports and supervises staff and students, including orientation and preceptoring.
* Contributes to achieving hospital and clinical service operational objectives.
You must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, demonstrate a commitment to quality patient care, and possess well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and a commitment to ongoing professional development are essential. * Salary: $76,991 to $101,314 (pro rata for part-time) plus 11.5% superannuation
* A permanent part-time position working 40 hours per fortnight
