We are seeking a motivated and experienced Centre Manager to lead Kununurra
Neighbourhood House through its next phase of growth and community impact.
Reporting to the Management Committee, the Centre Manager will provide strategic,
operational, and financial leadership to ensure the smooth, sustainable, and compliant
operation of the organisation.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines governance, community engagement,
people management, and operational excellence in a truly rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
As Centre Manager, you will:
● Lead day-to-day operations, oversee programs and community services.
● Work closely with the Management Committee to deliver the Strategic Plan and operational goals.
● Provide strong and supportive leadership to staff, contractors, and volunteers.
● Ensure compliance with funding, governance, and legislative requirements.
● Manage budgets, finances, grants and reporting to ensure sustainability.
● Drive community engagement, partnerships, and marketing initiatives.
● Oversee policy development, risk management, and continuous improvement.
About You
You're an experienced and compassionate leader who thrives in a community-focused role. You'll bring a balance of operational know-how, strategic thinking, and genuine connection with people.
Essential:
● Tertiary qualification in community services, business management, leadership, or equivalent experience.
● Proven success leading teams in a community or not-for-profit setting.
● Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and financial management.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
● Ability to translate strategic goals into practical outcomes.
● Knowledge of relevant legislation (Associations Act WA, WHS, Privacy, Child Safety).
Desirable:
● Experience in grant writing and managing funded projects.
● Familiarity with the SCHADS Award and HR management principles.
● Experience managing incidents or community challenges with sound judgement and empathy.
