Payroll Officer
Tasman Power are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer who will have single-point accountability for the efficient operation of the payroll function, being responsible for the end-to-end payroll process and related administration.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and process weekly payroll, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements.
* Maintain accurate payroll data on HR3, prepare reports, and process salary adjustments, leave, and terminations.
* Manage deductions, job costing allocations, superannuation, Payroll Tax, and Construction LSL.
* Facilitate salary transfers, reconcile PAYG Payment Summaries, and ensure timely submission to the ATO.
* Advise on payroll procedures, compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Resolve payroll issues, maintain accurate records, and liaise with management, employees, and HR/Finance teams.
Qualifications
* 2 or more years' experience in a payroll position within a similar industry (preferably mining).
* Robust knowledge of award and enterprise agreement interpretation.
* In-depth understanding of payroll systems, procedures, statutory requirements, and accounting standards.
* Experience with payroll software.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Knowledge of superannuation and workers' compensation legislation.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a quick‐paced workplace.

Compensation
$85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
