The role
Resource Planning & Data Analyst is responsible for facilitating the effective management of the resources at SAAB Australia through the analysis of workforce demands. Provided forecasting and reporting from an enterprise, program and project perspective whilst ensuring alignment to strategic workforce planning and resource planning.
Working closely with Project Management Teams, Resource Managers and Business Leaders to ensure there is a clear understanding of current verses planned resourcing levels requirements to deliver against current and future work.
Managing the people resource management database, you will review and work with various projects to ensure appropriate resource allocation and resource levels are adequately managed
Further, the successful candidate will:
Manage the resource database to effectively manage resource capability and capacity to support resource forecast demands.
Analyse current planned and future resource levels as per project requirements and provide forward guidance to the management team and other key stakeholders to support recruitment and capability management.
Generate reports and dashboards to articulate forecast resource requirements based on project goals, project timelines, team capacity and organisational goals.
Provide support to working groups through reporting and data analysis functions.
Analyse current business processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions to streamline workflows and enhance overall efficiency.
Utilise analytical tools and techniques to extract meaningful insights from data, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and provide recommendations to enhance business operations and performance.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to keep them informed of project progress, potential risks, and changes in scope.
Understand the customer, management and project leadership reporting requirements and develop fit-for-purpose management reporting dashboards using multiple system inputs and automated data gathering tools for reliable and consistent reporting outcomes.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to bring innovative ideas and solutions to the organisation
About You
Your skills and experience will include:
Strong relevant experience within an engineering and project execution organisation, preferably within the defence or resources industries on complex major capital projects.
Proven experience as a resource analyst or in a similar role.
Strong MS Excel skills and experience.
PowerBI skills and experience (desirable)
Strong experience with data analysis and data visualisation tools.
Demonstrated experience working within collaborative frameworks is highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable conclusions.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience working in and leading in a complex stakeholder environment
Tertiary qualification in Business, Project Management, Data Analysis or a related field (desirable)
As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Citizenship and Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1/NV2 level. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
