Project Controls Specialist
This role requires exceptional organizational and communication skills to effectively manage contract and financial coordination with the project team, owners, and subcontractors.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of the project team, and have excellent problem-solving skills.
* Reviews and verifies owner's contracts to ensure all terms and requirements are being met.
* Organizes, enters, and maintains budget information in project accounting systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
* Reviews and enters purchase order and subcontract agreements; manages subcontractor payment distributions, ensuring timely payments and resolving any discrepancies.
* Develops and tracks detailed procurement and construction resource-loaded schedules in Primavera P6, providing essential support to management and supervision through preparation, updating, and maintenance of forecasts and identification of schedule and performance variances utilizing earned value methodology.
* Analyzes job cost and identifies problems, compiles, and issues project performance reports, bringing critical issues to the immediate attention of appropriate management personnel.
* Leads the billing process, including regular cash flow maintenance, and helps identify over/under billing situations, ensuring accurate invoicing and minimizing potential disputes.
* Compiles and maintains change order documentation, assists in presentation to customers, and reviews and tracks waivers, affidavits, and collections.
* Maintains bond information request forms and utilizes analytical systems, methods, and tools to monitor the project, completing weekly and monthly progress reports to management and/or customer as needed.
* Participates in project review meetings and assists in job closeout process, ensuring smooth transition and handover.
* Provides job and corporate audit assistance, supporting the organization in maintaining compliance and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in accounting, business administration, or a related field.
* Three years of related project controls and administration experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and familiarity with Viewpoint and Primavera P6 software.
