About the Role
We're seeking a strategic and commercially savvy Procurement Manager to take full ownership of sourcing and supplier management across a leading Australian agribusiness. This is a newly created role with the opportunity to shape procurement practices, drive cost efficiencies, and strengthen supplier performance across vertically integrated operations—from farms and feedlots to processing and value-add divisions.
Based in Brisbane, with regular travel to the processing site, you'll lead a high-performing team, streamline processes, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure supply reliability, cost optimisation, and long-term resilience.
What You'll Do
* Develop and execute procurement strategies that deliver measurable business impact.
* Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers across domestic and international markets.
* Streamline procurement processes for greater efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
* Collaborate with production, logistics, and finance teams to optimise planning, inventory, and supply continuity.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities through benchmarking, spend consolidation, and landed cost analysis.
* Ensure suppliers meet quality, delivery, and compliance standards through structured reviews.
* Build strategic supplier partnerships and uncover global sourcing opportunities.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing purchasing team to enhance their strategic capabilities.
Who You Are
* Commercially minded procurement leader with a proven record of driving cost efficiencies and supplier performance.
* Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing highly favourable.
* Experienced in end-to-end procurement across local and international markets.
* Skilled negotiator with expertise in sourcing, contract management, and supplier optimisation.
* Analytical and data-driven, turning insights into practical business improvements.
* Confident communicator who builds strong relationships internally and externally.
* Hands-on, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced, operationally complex environment.
* Tertiary qualified in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, or related field.
* 5+ years' experience in procurement or supply chain management, including senior leadership roles.
* Experience in manufacturing, food processing, or agribusiness is highly regarded.
