SH Recruitment is working exclusively with a childcare service that is opening a brand‐new, purpose‐built early learning centre in beautiful Wandin North — and we're searching for an exceptional Centre Director with proven start‐up experience to bring this service to life.
This is a rare opportunity to shape culture, build occupancy from day one, and lead a high‐quality program with the full backing of one of the sector's most reputable, high‐performing organisations.
With the centre due to open in August, we are now looking for someone to start mid‐May 2026, to get things up and running early.

About the Role
As Centre Director, you will lead the successful launch, licensing, and ongoing performance of this brand‐new service. You'll drive occupancy growth, build a high‐performing team, and create a warm, inclusive, and community‐connected centre that families trust.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading all start‐up operations, including licensing, team recruitment, and community engagement
Driving occupancy growth through exceptional service quality, local partnerships, and strategic enrolment planning
Building and mentoring a high‐performing, values‐driven team
Embedding a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Ensuring compliance with all NQF, regulatory, and organisational standards
Creating a welcoming, inspiring environment for children, families, and educators
What You Bring
To be considered, you must have:
Proven start‐up experience (opening a new centre or leading a major service turnaround)
Strong leadership capability and the ability to inspire, coach, and develop teams
Deep understanding of the NQF, EYLF, and high‐quality practice
A proactive, community‐focused approach to building occupancy
Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education
