Key responsibilities
- Provide clear leadership and direction to the Engineering and Maintenance teams.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent, ensuring succession planning and capability growth
- Develop and implement an engineering strategy that ensures reliability, performance, and longevity of plant and equipment.
- Lead the development and execution of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with WH&S;, environmental, food safety, and regulatory standards.
- Embed a safety-first culture across the Engineering function.
- Identify and implement new technologies and automation to enhance productivity.
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage engineering budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
About you
- Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
- 10+ years' engineering/maintenance leadership in food manufacturing or related heavy industry.
- Proven success in leading engineering/maintenance teams in large-scale operations.
- Strong knowledge of asset management, reliability engineering and minatenance planning.
- Strong WH&S; and regulatory compliance knowledge.
- Commercial acumen with experience managing budget and contracts.
- Experience in port, meat processing, or FMCG environment is desirable.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certifications is desirable.
- Experience with automation, robotics and process control systems is desirable.
