About the role:
The Lands Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective performance of land administration activities relevant to designated hardwood forests, ensuring clarity and accuracy in land titles, land access, and land use agreements. This role requires the effective management of stakeholder relationships and the resolution of land access and land usage agreements in a way that aligns with stakeholder needs, is compliant, beneficial and supports the Corporation’s objectives. The Lands Officer plays a key role in informing decision-making, managing risks, and maximizing commercial return.
We would love you to have/be:
* Knowledge and/or understanding of Forest Permits, Crown Leases, Land Access, and Land Use Agreements.
* Broad knowledge of forest management and land use issues.
* The ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and regulations.
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, preferably including negotiation skills and experience.
* Proven experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Local Government Authorities, Government Agencies, and the public.
* Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
* Proven ability to manage competing demands, prioritize tasks effectively, and work independently.
* Demonstrated computer skills, preferably including experience in accessing and using spatial data and GIS.
