The Opportunity We’re seeking a Legal Counsel – Corporate, Commercial & Disputes to join our Legal team in a role well suited to a developing in-house lawyer. This position offers exposure to a broad mix of corporate and commercial advisory work, alongside hands-on experience supporting the management of disputes and contentious matters across the business. Reporting to the General Counsel – Wagering & Corporate, you’ll work closely with senior lawyers and business stakeholders to provide practical legal support. You’ll assist with commercial transactions, help manage disputes under supervision, and build experience assessing legal risk in a regulated environment. What You’ll Do Draft, review, and support negotiation of commercial and corporate agreements Assist with legal advice across corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters Support the management of disputes and contentious matters, including coordinating with external counsel Help prepare instructions, review advice, and track progress of claims and disputes Assist the business on contractual issues, complaints, and other contentious matters Collaborate across the Legal team to deliver timely, high-quality legal support About You You’re an early-career to mid-level lawyer who is keen to broaden your in-house experience across both advisory and disputes work. You’re organised, curious, and comfortable working under guidance while developing confidence and capability. You bring: Post-admission experience in corporate and commercial law (in-house or private practice) Some exposure to disputes or contentious matters (desirable, not essential) Strong drafting, research, and attention to detail Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced environment Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style Experience or interest in regulated industries Why Tabcorp?
