The Successful Candidate
This role is responsible for the end‐to‐end ownership of on‐premises Kubernetes platforms, ensuring they are secure, robust, and operationally sound. You will design, build, operate, and continuously improve Kubernetes clusters used to run mission‐critical workloads.
The role has a strong emphasis on day‐two operations, platform reliability, observability, and security hardening. You will work closely with a senior systems engineering counterpart who owns the underlying Linux platform architecture, ensuring both layers function as a cohesive, secure system.
This role is suited to an engineer who wants deep technical ownership, rather than pure delivery or advisory responsibilities.
* Operating and maintaining production‐grade Kubernetes clusters
* Cluster lifecycle management, upgrades, scaling, backup and recovery
* Strong understanding of Kubernetes security (RBAC, network policies, secrets, image controls)
* Implementing monitoring, alerting, and observability
* Infrastructure automation and Git‐based workflows
* Collaboration with system, network, and security engineers
* Experience in regulated, classified, or high‐assurance environments (highly regarded)
