If you are, then Yarrabing Secondary College is looking for Education Support Staff to join the school from Term 3 2025.
**About Us**
Yarrabing Secondary College opened in Term 1 2024 and provides the growing local population with great educational opportunities close to home. It is able to enrol up to 550 students with the stage one facilities. In 2024 Yarrabing Secondary College opened to approximately 150 Year 7 students and will progressively grow by one year level thereafter. In 2025, we have Year 7 and Year 8 students only.
Yarrabing Secondary College is located 29 kilometres west of Melbourne in the suburb of Aintree. When fully established, the school will have 1200 students enrolled from Year 7 to 12 and 130 school staff members.
Our school grounds are close to planned parklands, sporting facilities, and we are surrounded by a supportive community. Most students that will attend our school live locally and would tend to walk or ride their bike to school.
Our school will be culturally diverse with 60% of students having a language background other than English (LOTE) spoken in the family home, with the largest LOTE languages being Hindi and Punjabi. We are proud of our diversity and our inclusive school community.

**Selection Criteria**:
**SC1** A demonstrated interest in working with young people and an ability to relate to young people in a positive, respectful and supportive manner.
**SC2**Demonstrated high level communication skills with a range of individuals and well-developed emotional intelligence.
**SC3**Knowledge of DE policies and guidelines in relation to Inclusion and an ability to contribute to their implementation.
**SC4** Demonstrated proficiency in literacy and numeracy.
**SC5** Experience in Education Support and/or Completion of Certificate IV in Education Support (or similar).
**SC6**Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate unexpected challenges, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in meeting the evolving needs and circumstances of the school environment. Demonstrated capacity to contribute to the culture of a school.
**Role**:
An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the _Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic)_ or its successor.
