The Step Up Step Down Unit is seeking an Occupational Therapist to deliver clinical services, independently and within a multidisciplinary team, to clients of the Step-Up Step-Down Sub Acute Facility. This facility aims to prevent acute admissions to our mental health unit (Step Up) and to assist transitions out of hospital (Step Down).
About the Role
This is a permanent position that requires a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist who can work closely with non-clinical partners to deliver a psycho-social recovery-based program.
The MHAODS Step Up Step Down Unit provides services to adult clients aged 18 to 64 years with severe mental disorders or illnesses requiring treatment and care in a supportive environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will also need to have experience working with clients with severe mental disorders or illnesses.
* Occupational Therapy qualification
* Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Experience working in a mental health setting
