Design Draftsperson (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) - North Brisbane
About the Role: We're seeking an experienced Design Draftsperson / CAD Draftsperson to join our team in Nudgee. This hands-on role involves producing detailed structural and mechanical drafting for modifications and fit-outs. You'll work closely with engineers, production, and sales teams to deliver innovative, safe, and manufacturable designs.
This role starts as a casual position working full-time hours with an immediate start and the opportunity to move into permanent employment after probation period.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings & documentation (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).
* Develop mechanical and structural designs for modifications, steel fabrication, and repairs.
* Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales to meet client needs.
* Review, improve, and peer-check designs prepared internally or offshore.
* Carry out site/production inspections and support manufacturing teams.
What You'll Bring
* Diploma/Certificate in Engineering, Drafting, Architecture, or equivalent.
* 10+ years' design drafting experience (mechanical/structural).
* Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (other 3D CAD software an advantage).
* Strong understanding of AS 1100 drafting standards & AS/NZS structural codes.
* Experience in steel drafting, modifications, or industrial design highly regarded.
* Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
