CASUAL/FULL TIME MARINE ENGINE DRIVER - MED1 or MED2
Based in Port Lincoln, Australian Tuna Fisheries / Stehr Group are currently seeking a Marine Engine Driver (MED1 or MED2) to join our team in Port Lincoln. This is a hands-on engineering role supporting vessel operations year-round, including preparation for the upcoming fishing season.

he Role:
As a Marine Engine Driver, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective running and maintenance of our vessels.
 * Day-to-day operation and maintenance of main engines and auxiliary machinery
 * Carrying out pre-checks, start-ups, servicing, and record keeping
 * Diagnosing and completing basic repairs, including hydraulic systems and vessel crane
 * Preparing vessels for sea in coordination with the Vessel Maintenance Manager
 * Supporting tuna fishing and towing operations within qualification limits
 * General upkeep and housekeeping of the vessel
 * Ensuring the safety of self, vessel, and others at all times

Essential:
 * Qualification as Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 or 2 (with experience)
 * A minimum of 1-2 years of marine engine driver experience is required
 * Sound knowledge of engineering and vessel maintenance and responsibilities
 * Can diagnose problems and communicate them with ability to complete basic repairs as required
 * Unsupervised servicing of machinery
 * Understand and completes daily checks, record keeping is maintained and reporting of issues or faults is timely and accurate
 * Relevant work experience in similar roles
 * Ability to work on the water and assist with general vessel operations
 * Australian work rights are required for this position
