GHS Solutions is seeking an experienced Structural, Mechanical, Piping (SMP) Estimator to join our growing team, based in Geraldton, Western Australia.
This role plays a critical part in the successful delivery of SMP fabrication and site installation. You will provide accurate and competitive estimates, support tender submissions, and help develop concept designs to support project execution.

The Role
As an Estimator (SMP), you will take a leadership role within the estimating function by providing technical expertise, coordinating input from clients, internal teams, suppliers, ensuring estimates and tenders are delivered accurately and on time.
Your work will directly contribute to winning work and supporting smooth handover to delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Initiate, scope, and estimate SMP works and larger projects within required timeframes
* Prepare accurate costings for labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and schedules
* Track opportunities through internal systems from estimate to productionCoordinate procurement inputs with suppliers and subcontractors
* Support and coordinate tender submissions and documentation
* Develop concept and preliminary design drawings as required
* Read, interpret, and assess technical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
* Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify scope and pricing assumptions
* Handover awarded works to relevant project and operations teams
About You
You are a technically capable and detail-oriented professional with SMP experience.
You will ideally have:
* Australian-recognised trade qualification or Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Construction, or related discipline
* 3–5 years' experience in SMP construction, mechanical maintenance, or project delivery
* Demonstrated experience in estimating, resourcing and scheduling
* Experience in tender coordination and submission requirements
* Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and technical documentation
* Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with clients and internal teams
* Ability to produce or support concept design and drafting (AutoCAD experience desirable but not essential)
