Primary objective
Lead the implementation of a structured release management process for Finance Systems, ensuring controlled deployments, system stability, and alignment with business and technical requirements.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Establish and implement a managed release process for both bespoke and vendor‑managed applications within Finance Systems.
* Enforce change control mechanisms, preventing unapproved deployments to production.
* Develop and maintain Jira spaces for external client roadmaps, internal sprint boards, and dashboards to enhance visibility and tracking.
* Lead the adoption of Jira best practices, including release management, test cycles, and test plans.
* Collaborate with Data Centre Services (DCS), Infrastructure Network teams, Vendors and 3rd parties to ensure proper server maintenance and timely SAML/certificate updates.
* Allocate and manage development tasks, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery.
* Drive technology upgrades, including Bamboo deployments and Sentry for error logging and reporting.
* Develop key project documentation, including options papers, business requirements, and project plans.
* Act as a liaison between technical teams, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Selection criteria
Essential
* Extensive experience in release and change management within an enterprise Finance Systems environment or similar.
* Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, Jira workflows, sprint planning, and test automation.
* Understanding of modern deployment tools (e.g., Bamboo, Bitbucket, API integrations, and Sentry for error logging).
* Demonstrated ability to work with Infrastructure and Security teams on server maintenance.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including documentation, reporting, and issue resolution.
* Proven leadership experience in mentoring development teams, allocating tasks, and ensuring project timelines are met.
* High‑level problem‑solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve technical issues in a complex environment.
* Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement in Finance Systems governance.

* Appropriate tertiary qualification in information technology or other relevant discipline.
* Certification in or demonstrated knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
