Renal Staff Nurse (Dialysis unit)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 position to support the newly built Croydon Haemodialysis Unit (CHU).
The new satellite dialysis unit is based at Croydon University Hospital but is managed by the Renal Unit at St Helier Hospital in partnership with DaVita.
The St Helier Renal Unit has been offering renal replacement therapy for over 50 years as a tertiary renal referral centre. The unit is one of the 5 largest in England.
The new Croydon Haemodialysis Unit consists of 28 dialysis stations and can accommodate a capacity of 130 patients to start with.
We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Renal Nurse with excellent dialysis and leadership experience.
Main duties of the job
Staff Nurse - Croydon Satellite Dialysis Unit
The Staff Nurse will deliver high quality nursing care to patients, as part of a team. The post holder is responsible for their own practice, working within the defined limits of competence and within the scope of the role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high standard of care to dialysis patients as well as ensuring an excellent learning environment for patient and staff.
With the support of the Clinical Matron and Lead Clinicians, he/she will need to provide holistic care to renal dialysis patients and comply with specific infection and dialysis guidelines.
The post holder must have excellent interpersonal skills and have the capacity to work autonomously as a clinical expert. He/she will preferably need to have renal nursing experience, or have a keen interest to be trained in dialysis care. He/she must also be self‐motivated and have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications and Training
* Registered General Nurse
* Awareness of current nursing issues
* Competence in additional skills (e.g. venepuncture, cannulation, dialysis)
