Collaborate within a dedicated team in a unique environment as a Chefs and Cooks our Defence sites in Wagga – RAAF Base Wagga and Blamey Barracks. These roles are suitable for candidates that enjoy bulk cooking with a passion for quality, flavour, and presentation. You'll get full training and support while working in a dynamic and fun working environment.
The Position:
* Casual, part time and full time positions available
* Prepare high-quality, buffet-style meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, and events
* Uphold catering standards, comply with OH&S and HACCP regulations, and maintain a strong focus on waste reduction
* Support kitchen operations by managing inventory, receiving supplies, and monitoring cold room controls
* Provide exceptional customer service during all interactions
The Person:
Chef:
* $34 per hour
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
* Proven experience in large commercial kitchens.
* Strong knowledge of HACCP, allergen management, and food safety.
* Passionate about quality, with a focus on presentation and attention to detail.
* Goal-oriented, committed to personal and organisational success.
Cook:
* $27.5 per hour
* Experience in a commercial kitchen environment, preferably in high-volume settings.
* Good understanding of basic food safety, hygiene, and kitchen protocols (HACCP knowledge desirable).
* Able to follow set recipes and directions, ensuring consistency and quality.
* Team player with a can-do attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn and grow.
