The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.You will contribute to the design, development, testing, and implementation of onboard signalling systems for rail projects. With approximately 3 years of experience, you will work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and compliant signalling solutions.Key responsibilities:Support the design and development of onboard signalling systems, including Automatic Train Protection (ATP), Automatic Train Operation (ATO), and Train Control Management Systems (TCMS).Participate in the definition of system requirements and specifications in collaboration with system architects and project teams. Conduct system analysis, simulations, and testing to validate the performance and safety of onboard signalling systems. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the development, testing, and commissioning phases. Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., CENELEC, EN 50126/50128/50129) and safety regulations. Prepare technical documentation, such as design and requirement specifications. Support the installation, commissioning, and testing of onboard signalling systems on-site. Provide technical support to customers and stakeholders during project execution. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to contribute to innovation in onboard signalling systems. Key knowledge and experience:Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field. Approximately 3 years of experience in the design, V&V, or testing of onboard signalling systems or similar rail systems. Understanding of railway signalling principles, protocols, and standardsFamiliarity with safety-critical systems and RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) requirements. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
