We are seeking a skilled Care Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessments and recommendations to support children in statutory kinship care placements.

About the Role:
The Kinship Care First Supports Program aims to identify kinship networks early, strengthen family reunification where possible, promote placement stability and prevent children from being placed in residential care unnecessarily.
As a Care Manager, you will work closely with Child Protection and kinship carers to ensure the child's safety, stability, and developmental needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of kinship care placements.
* Provide recommendations to Child Protection on the suitability of kinship care placements.
* Work closely with kinship carers to build their capacity to respond to the child's needs.
* Support children to settle within the placement.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
Skills and Qualifications:
* A tertiary qualification in social work, welfare work or a related discipline.
* Experience working with children, young people and families with complex needs.
* An understanding of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and Best Interests Framework.
* Strong risk assessment skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
