Position Summary Reporting to the Head of Construction, the Pre-Construction Commercial Manager leads the pre-construction commercial and procurement phase for major energy projects. The role bridges late-stage development and construction, ensuring delivery models, procurement strategies, and commercial frameworks are operationalised to reduce risk, optimise value, and enable smooth handover to construction.
This is a hands‑on position combining commercial, procurement, and pre‑construction leadership. It requires someone who can structure contracts, assess value, and implement repeatable processes that strengthen project readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Establish pre-construction processes and operationalise the project delivery model.
Lead early engagement with suppliers, contractors, and consultants; develop procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
Structure, review, and optimise contracts to maximise value and mitigate risk.
Chair pre‑construction commercial sessions to clarify scope, identify gaps, and ensure interfaces are defined.
Oversee procurement of goods and services from initiation through management, including contract closure and settlements.
Coordinate engineering and technical inputs to ensure designs are constructible and aligned with project delivery requirements.
Support project planning, scheduling, risk management, and early works readiness.
Maintain structured project documentation, provide reporting to leadership, and escalatings key risks or issues as needed.
Contribute to continuous improvement of pre‑construction frameworks and repeatable processes across projects.

Skills & Experience
Strong background in procurement, commercial structuring, and pre‑construction delivery.
Experience operationalising delivery models, evaluating procurement strategies, and ensuring contracts deliver value.
Skilled in project coordination, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Skilled Engineering Registration (desirable but not essential).
