Job Title: Health and Safety Specialist
Martinus is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join their project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe workplace, developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures, and monitoring HSE performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to support the project team.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure project compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and standards.
- Monitor HSE performance of the project/site teams and contractors, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies and authorities, including government agencies and industry associations.
- Assist in the development and compilation of relevant HSE documentation, such as risk assessments and incident reports.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in health and safety roles, preferably in a major projects background.
- Relevant HSE qualifications, such as Cert IV in WHS or higher.
- Experience in the interpretation and application of relevant WHS Acts, Regulations, Australian Standards, and Codes of Practice.
- A demonstrated ability to understand audits and risk assessments, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders, and to communicate effectively on health and safety matters.
