Contracts Manager
Major Road Infrastructure Project Overview A tier-one contractor is delivering critical packages on Victoria's largest road infrastructure initiative. As the Contracts Manager, you will be instrumental in managing the commercial and contractual elements of the project. You will oversee procurement, contract negotiation, risk management, and contract administration to ensure the successful delivery of multi-million-dollar work packages.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all contractual and commercial aspects of major infrastructure delivery packages.
* Negotiate, prepare, review, and administer head contracts, subcontracts, and major supplier agreements .
* Maintain contractual compliance with Alliance or D&C frameworks .
* Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, legal teams, and external partners to resolve contract issues and claims.
* Monitor scope changes and variations, ensuring timely submission of EOTs, notices, and claims .
* Manage risk registers and support project teams with risk mitigation strategies .
* Conduct commercial reporting, cost forecasting, and budget tracking against contractual milestones.
* Mentor Contract Administrators and support commercial team development across the project.
Required Experience and Skills
* 10+ years' experience in contract management within the civil infrastructure or construction sector .
* Demonstrated experience managing contracts on large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, tunnels, bridges).
* Deep knowledge of commercial frameworks such as AS4000, GC21, and collaborative contracting (Alliance/D&C ).
* Strong negotiation, dispute resolution, and commercial acumen .
* Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office .
* Degree qualified in Law, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Desirable
* Prior experience on major government-led infrastructure projects (e.g., tunnel projects, road upgrade programs).
* Familiarity with state transport authorities and major road agency processes .
