This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to take a Cook role in the kitchen team and be part of evolving the menu. The Ceylon Harmony Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and dynamic Cook to lead our kitchen team and maintain the high culinary standards our guests love. As the Cook, you can bring your creativity to life while ensuring that every dish meets our commitment to excellence.
To be considered for this role, you must have a Certificate III in commercial cookery or at least three years of relevant experience to substitute for the formal qualification of a Food Safety certificate.
About the Role & other skill requirements
* Competent in a commercial kitchen and have sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking and dietary meal requirements.
* Minimum 1-2 years of high-quality bistro or semi-fine dining experience is required.
* Proven knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP principles.
* Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment at times.
* A desire to develop among a driven & professional team.
* Able to work shift work. Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Team player and multitasking
Job duties
* Prepare high-quality food according to menu guidelines and recipes
* Presented on the correct serving dish in the prescribed manner
* Ensuring that all mise-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time.
* Receiving and safe storage of food,
* Assisting with the regular inventory count
* Following correct food hygiene handling practices,
* Participating in team meetings and surveys.
* Following the restaurant's regular cleaning and waste disposal practices,
