We have an exciting opportunity for a Track & Facilities Manager to join our Racing Department on a permanent full-time basis, located at Mornington Racecourse. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take the reins of our racing and training surfaces, ensuring everything is in peak condition and ready to perform on race day. Reporting to the Racecourse Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated grounds team, manage equipment, oversee maintenance programs, and work closely with trainers, jockeys and other key stakeholders to make sure everything runs smoothly—whether it’s a busy race day, a training session, or seasonal track upgrades. You’ll also play a key role in long-term projects and continuous improvements, helping MRC maintain world-class racing and training facilities that trainers, jockeys and racing fans can rely on. In The Saddle Keep our track in winning form overseeing daily maintenance, ensuring surfaces are safe, consistent and top quality Lead and coach your grounds crew to deliver race-day ready conditions Prepare tracks for race days, trials, jump-outs and gallop sessions Manage irrigation, mowing, fertilising, aeration and repairs Keep a close eye on track conditions and call out any risks early Build strong relationships with trainers, contractors, suppliers and key racing stakeholders Keep machinery and equipment in top working order Jump in as the on-the-ground lead during race meetings Drive continuous improvement across track performance and facilities Your Track Record Strong experience in turf or track surface management Hands-on experience operating and maintaining machinery Relevant qualifications in Turf Management Experience in working within a racing club or governing body highly regarded Previous experience with training centres would be ideal Proven leadership skills—you're confident leading from the front Great planning and organisational skills (you don’t miss a beat) Great communicator with the ability to build strong relationships Solid understanding of safety, compliance, and risk management A current driver’s licence The Perks Ongoing learning and development opportunities.
