About the Role
As Commercial Director, you will lead the company's commercial strategy, partnerships, and market development across the Australian industrial sector. This is focused on driving adoption of cutting-edge clean energy technologies that enable industrial customers to transition from fossil fuels to renewable electricity. You will build the company's commercial presence, originate and structure major deals, and establish partnerships with industry, developers, and policymakers to accelerate large-scale decarbonisation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Develop and execute the commercial strategy for Australia, aligning with global business objectives.
* Identify and prioritise high-impact sectors (e.g., manufacturing, resources, cement, and chemicals) for technology deployment.
Business Development & Market Growth
* Originate, negotiate, and close commercial agreements with key industrial customers, utilities, and project developers.
* Lead project commercialisation from feasibility through contracting and delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Engage with policymakers, regulators, and industry associations to influence energy transition policy and market frameworks.
* Represent the business in forums, conferences, and collaborative initiatives to strengthen brand visibility and market influence.
Commercial Management
* Lead pricing, contracting, and business model development to enhance project competitiveness.
* Build financial models and business cases to support investment decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
* 15+ years' experience in commercial, business development, or strategy roles within energy, renewables, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
* Proven track record of originating and closing large-scale energy or industrial projects.
* Strong understanding of Australian energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and industrial customer needs.
* Experience working with high-growth, technology-driven companies (energy storage, renewables, or process heat preferred).
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with a strong industry network across energy, manufacturing, and government sectors.
* Strategic thinker with strong commercial and analytical acumen.
